Position Type: District and School Support Positions - Non-Cert/Bus Monitor Date Posted: 10/21/2024 Location: Various School Locations (High-Needs School) Closing Date: Until Filled Department: Transportation TITLE: BUS MONITOR CLASSIFICATION: Part-Time / Hourly FLSA: Non-Exempt DEPARTMENT: Transportation SALARY: $16.43- $19.42 WORK YEAR: School Year REPORT TO: Transportation Coordinator DESCRIPTION: Under the general direction of the Department Administrator / School, The Bus Monitor will supervise the pick up and drop off of student passengers at bus stops, stations or regularly scheduled locations; enforce school safety and student conduct regulations in accordance with School Board policies and procedures. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Regular attendance to perform assigned duties;
  • Supervise the pick up and drop off of student passengers;
  • Ensure students are properly seated at all times
  • Maintain student bus roster
  • Record and report all major incidents
  • Maintain discipline as needed
  • Assist students with special needs as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A High School Diploma or its equivalence
  • Two years experience with school age students
