Job description

Travel agency located in North Little Rock, AR seeking a Travel Agency Bookkeeper. Candidate will be responsible for managing the financial records of the travel agency. Will support smooth financial operations, facilitate accurate reporting, and financial data.


This position would be Monday-Thursday for approximately 6 hours a day.


Responsibilities

  • Complete payroll using QuickBooks.
  • Verify, calculate, and reconcile commission payments from airlines, hotels, tour operators, and other vendors.
  • Perform bank reconciliations regularly to ensure consistency between bank statements and ledger entries.
  • Manage client invoicing, process deposits, and track outstanding balances.
  • Prepare journal entries and perform account analysis to support month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Handle account reconciliation tasks to resolve discrepancies promptly.


Qualifications

  • Must have minimum of 2 years experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles.
  • Must have experience and proficiency in using QuickBooks.
  • Experience within a travel agency or similar service industry would be a plus.
  • Knowledge of bank reconciliation procedures, general ledger management, and account reconciliation techniques.
  • Familiarity with payroll processing, tax regulations, accounts payable/receivable management, and budget analysis.
  • Ability to perform detailed balance sheet reconciliation and journal entry preparation accurately.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.
