Job description

9am-am tgol Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Part-Time Leasing & Recertification Administrator to support the day-to-day operations of an affordable housing portfolio in NYC. This position will be responsible for conducting tenant recertification interviews, processing annual and interim recertifications, maintaining compliance documentation, and assisting the Property Manager with leasing vacant units.

The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, knowledge of affordable housing programs, excellent follow-up abilities, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience with LIHTC, Section 8, HUD, HPD, or other affordable housing programs is strongly preferred.

This is a part-time, 3-month contract position consisting of three days a week, Tuesday to Thursday, 9 am-5 pm. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Recertification & Compliance
Conduct annual and interim recertification interviews with tenants
Collect, review, and process required income and household documentation
Prepare and complete tenant recertification packets and lease documents
Ensure compliance with LIHTC, HUD, HPD, Section 8, and other regulatory requirements
Maintain accurate tenant files and compliance records
Follow up with residents regarding missing documentation and deadlines
Assist with audit preparation and file reviews as needed
Enter and update tenant information in property management software systems
Leasing Responsibilities
Assist with leasing vacant units and applicant processing
Schedule apartment showings and applicant interviews
Process applications, verifications, and screening documentation
Maintain waitlists and applicant records in accordance with fair housing guidelines
Prepare move-in paperwork and coordinate move-in scheduling
Respond to leasing inquiries via phone, email, and walk-ins
Administrative Support
Assist the Property Manager with daily administrative operations
Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems
Track deadlines for recertifications, lease renewals, and vacancies
Communicate professionally with tenants, vendors, and agency representatives
Assist with notices, correspondence, and reporting as needed
Qualifications
Previous experience in affordable housing, leasing, recertifications, or property management preferred
Knowledge of LIHTC, HUD, Section 8, HPD, or affordable housing compliance programs preferred
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to handle confidential information professionally
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management software (AppFolio experience a plus)
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
