Job description

Part-Time Admin Assistant --- Vision Therapy Assistant
Pay Rate: $15.00/hour
Schedule: Part-time, 15-20 hours per week
Hours: Approximately 2:00 PM 7:00 PM during the school year (schedule may vary during the summer)
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Vision Therapy Assistant to join our team. No prior vision therapy experience is required we provide complete training from the ground up, with the opportunity to grow into a full-time Vision Therapist.
Please note: We have a friendly office dog, so candidates must be comfortable working in an environment with dogs.
Responsibilities
Assist with vision therapy activities and patient care (training provided)
Answer incoming phone calls and take accurate messages
Support the daily operations of the office
Complete administrative and organizational tasks when not working directly with patients
Maintain a professional, positive, and productive work environment
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will:
Be dependable and punctual
Be mature and responsible
Be confident and self-motivated
Be teachable and able to take instruction well
Have a strong work ethic and be willing to stay productive throughout the workday
Enjoy working with children and people of all ages
Be comfortable answering phones and communicating professionally
Possess basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, and working with fractions (including converting fractions)
Be comfortable working in an office with a dog
Have a high school diploma or equivalent
Be able to pass a background check, as this position involves working closely with children
Training & Requirements
No experience is necessary we train all team members from scratch.
Scrubs are provided.
A basic math assessment is required as part of the hiring process.
Candidates must successfully master 10 - 12 vision therapy exercises within the first 90 days of employment.
Attendance is critical during the first 90 days of training. Absences during this period are generally not permitted except in extenuating circumstances.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children, is eager to learn new skills, and is interested in building a long-term career in vision therapy.
