Buena Vista University is seeking candidates for a part time Financial Aid Clerk opportunity with the Financial Aid Office. This position plays a vital behind-the-scenes role in ensuring students receive accurate and timely financial aid awards by assisting with data processing, record maintenance, and compliance-related activities.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Assist with the processing, awarding, and adjustment of financial aid packages.
  • Review financial aid applications and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Enter and maintain student financial aid records in institutional systems.
  • Process verification documents and monitor required student file completion.
  • Support the administration of federal, state, institutional, and scholarship aid programs.
  • Monitor awarding workflows and assist with timely processing of financial aid applications.
  • Generate and review reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Assist with financial aid audits, reconciliation activities, and special projects.
  • Maintain organized electronic records and documentation.
  • Ensure confidentiality of student information and compliance with FERPA and institutional policies.
  • Perform other administrative and clerical duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in Business, Accounting, Office Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in higher education, financial aid, accounting, or records administration.
  • Familiarity with student information systems and financial aid software.
  • Knowledge of financial aid regulations and compliance requirements.
