Job description

Overview:

Join our team! Egan Company is seeking candidates for an Estimator/Inside Account Manager role within our Building Automation group, working from our Champlin location! In this role you will be estimating Building automation controls solutions per plans. Working with Assistant Account Managers and Account Managers helping with a variety of projects.

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the Estimator/Inside Account Manager include but are not limited to the following:

  • Accurately estimate Building Automation control solutions per plans/specification requirements and owner-direct opportunities for material, equipment, software, and installation labor costs for both large construction and service projects.
  • Write scope proposals based on estimates, and clearly describe the intent and scope of work for stakeholders.
  • Partner with Account Managers to present the estimates, designs, and project scope to the Building Automation team during project kick-offs, to provide the story of the project’s development and project specifics.
  • Manage estimating software and confirm vendor pricing, support subcontractor pricing requests, and serve as a subject matter expert in estimating software for the Building Automation group.
  • Provide sales to operations turnover support through booking of awarded projects into Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, operational file shares, and cloud-based field project management software systems.
  • Assist Account Managers with management of contacts, opportunities, and marketing activities through extensive use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.

Requirements:

  • Must possess a high school diploma.
  • Two year technical degree in HVAC or Electronics related studies preferred. An undergraduate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Construction Management is highly preferred.
  • Two years of experience with estimating and utilizing estimating software is preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of standard office computer programs such as Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of estimating processes and software.
  • Ability to present to both internal and external groups.
  • Ability to learn and promote other areas of the business.
  • Proficient in the use of standard office computer programs such as Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills to deal with competing customer needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong internal and external relationships and possess the desire to develop into an account management role.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Strong desire to grow professionally and to learn and retain technical information.

Working Conditions:

  • Performance of duties will be in the office, home, customer sites, and job sites as needed.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Exposure to loud noise, dirt, and exposure to the elements.
  • Climbing ladders/stairs, uneven ground, bending, kneeling, and twisting are to be expected on job sites.

Salary Range: $69,000 -$90,000 (subject to such factors as experience, education, and/or skill set) plus potential annual discretionary bonus.
