Job description

Part-time, $16.00 an hour. Paid time off. Free museum passes and discounts. The purpose of this position is to provide prompt, courteous and professional service to guests and employees of the merchandise gift shops.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions

  • Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, assist them in finding products, and address their inquiries to enhance their shopping experience. Build rapport with customers to encourage repeat business.
  • Sales Transactions: Process sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system, handle cash and credit transactions, and manage returns and exchanges.
  • Product Knowledge: Maintain a thorough understanding of the store's products, including features, benefits, and pricing, to effectively inform and assist customers.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in managing inventory levels by restocking shelves, conducting stock checks, and reporting low stock levels to management.
  • Visual Merchandising: Help maintain the store's visual presentation by organizing merchandise displays according to company guidelines and ensuring the store is clean and inviting.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members to achieve sales targets and contribute to a positive team environment.
