The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

Since 1882, Jersey City Medical Center has provided Hudson County advanced, state-of-the-art medical treatment across a broad spectrum of different disciplines. From screenings and diagnostics to life-saving, intensive care, our patients can count on a patient-centric approach that puts their comfort and well-being at the forefront of everything we do. Our medical center serves as a regional referral, teaching hospital and is also outfitted with the latest technologies to assist our professionals in providing the highest standard of care for patients of all ages.

Required Certifications and Licenses:

  • Active NJ RN License or Multistate RN License with NJ Endorsement
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required; a bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.
  • 1–2 years of Telemetry/Medical-Surgical hospital experience required; intermediate care and ventilator experience preferred.

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Night Shift 7:00pm - 7:30am
  • Part Time
  • No set schedule: Schedule during the week will vary depending on department needs

Essential Functions:

Nurses in our float pool are highly valued, as they are able to provide extraordinary care to patients across all populations, including trauma, neurology, cardiology, orthopedics, oncology, and alcohol withdrawal. The role of the Professional Registered Nurse is to provide quality nursing care in collaboration with the medical staff and within the guidelines of the New Jersey State Nurse Practice Act. It is the responsibility of the Professional Nurse to implement the Hospital's Mission and goals through established policies, procedures and performance improvement activities. Implementation of these goals occurs through organization and administration of individualized age specific professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital. The understanding of the principles of growth and development will be incorporated to assess each patient's age specific needs and determine age specific treatment modalities.
