Summary
Substitute teachers are an important part of the daily function of the District. Dunklin R-5 School District welcomes substitutes as members of our interim staff. The primary role of the substitute is to carry out the classroom teacher's lesson plans while the full-time teacher is not in attendance.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Assume the responsibilities for instructing classes when a teacher is absent.
  2. Assume all other responsibilities for that teacher during the time the teacher is absent.
  3. Prepare lesson plans with assistance from the department/grade level teacher, as well as the building administration, when lesson plans are not available.
  4. Maintain appropriate records, including but not limited to grading papers, checking test papers, effectively proctoring tests, taking attendance, and other work required for a teacher who is absent.
  5. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Building Level Administration.

Supervisory Duties
Supervising students in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Minimum of 36 College Credits or 20-hour Frontline Certificate
