Job description

Summary: 

Responsible for checking fluid levels (fuel, grease, and oil) and performing preventative maintenance (lubrication, oil changes, oil/air filters, and oil samples) on all heavy equipment used on the projects. The oiler must also safely operate a lube/grease truck to dispense lubricants to construction equipment. Must be able to take direction and accurately log daily activities, such as oil changes, samples, fuel usage, etc.
Candidate must be willing to travel anywhere in the State of FL

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Servicing various types of heavy construction equipment.
  • Checking and maintaining proper fluid levels for various compartments including engine, hydraulics, transmission, etc.
  • Proper handling of successfully-collected fluid samples for analysis.
  • Accurate record-keeping of all daily tasks via computer and/or paper transactions.
  • Completing all daily paperwork required for DOT.
  • Monitoring and maintaining inventories of fuel, oil, filters, etc.
  • Visual inspections of machines and reporting conditions/deficiencies.
  • Compliance with all safety and environmental requirements.

Requirements:

Workers should be able to follow specific directions; perform a variety of duties which may often change; work within standards of accuracy; repeat tasks of short duration according to a set procedure; evaluate information using measurable standards. Minimum of Class B Driver's license with Haz-Mat and Tanker endorsements. Ability to provide and maintain proper license and acceptable driving record.

Education and Experience: 

High school diploma preferred and on-the-job training required. Two plus years of oiler/lube technician experience - preferably with knowledge of heavy equipment. Must provide proper tooling necessary to complete daily job tasks.
