Job description

Overview:

Egan Company is seeking candidates for an Assistant Project Manager - Panel Shop position located in Champlin, MN. The main focus of this position will be supporting Project Managers in the execution and planning of control panel assembly and engineering projects, within the Industrial Controls group. This group is responsible for designing control systems for various manufacturing clients. Some of the functions within this group include CAD design, hardware engineering, PLC/HMI programming, control panel assembly, and electrical installation.

*** This role could also be a Hybrid role, so working in the office and at home***

Responsibilities:
  • Support the Project Management team with sales, planning, and execution of projects.
  • Communicate with key project stakeholders regarding project needs and goals.
  • Assist in analyzing drawings specifications and related data to determine design requirements.
  • Assist with project close-out for Project Managers, including labor and material coordinating, and tracking cost.
  • Support management of vendor relationships and supply chain for ongoing projects.
  • Attend project kick-off meetings and post-project reviews with project managers.
  • Support sales efforts through attending sales calls and foster long-term customer relationships.
  • Assist in resolving design and build issues associated with the customer, panel shop, and engineering.
  • Create purchase orders for bills of material and work with material vendors to procure the required material for projects.
  • Continuous tracking and reporting of ongoing projects.
  • Consistently promote and live Eganโ€™s culture of safety.
  • Any other duties needed to help drive the Egan vision, fulfill our mission, and abide by our organizationโ€™s โ€œvalues.โ€
Qualifications:
  • Two-year degree / Vo-Tech certificate and/or 2 years related electrical experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in business management or related field preferred.
  • Background in control panel systems installations and practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret specs and blueprints.
  • Strong PC skills and proficiency in MS Office suite/Google suite.
  • Highly organized and able to multitask.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
  • Previous experience in UL 508A panel shop construction, assembly, and sales processes.
  • Knowledgeable in Industrial automation, controls integration, UL 508A Panel Shop Solutions, and familiarity with OEM and manufacturing controls-related business opportunities.
  • Experience in job cost management and/or financial management including budgetary constraints.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of internal and external customers.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects at a time.
  • Ability to read industrial & electrical control and power schematics.
  • Knowledge of job scheduling and customer timeline management.
  • Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of estimating software and estimating process.

Salary Range: $55,978-$69,972 (subject to such factors as experience, education, and/or skill set) plus potential annual discretionary bonus.
