Job description

Sheet Metal Fabricator โ€“ 2nd Shift 2:30pm to 11pm #2931ST

Pay: $26.11 per hour

A Sheet Metal Fabricator is needed for a 2nd shift position, responsible for programming and operating CNC laser turret punch machines, panel benders, and press brakes. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform quality inspections to ensure parts meet blueprint specifications. The fabricator will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, maintaining safety and cleanliness while meeting production targets.

Responsibilities:
  • Program and operate CNC laser turret punch machines, panel benders, and press brakes.
  • Set up and operate brake press and punch press equipment.
  • Operate handheld overhead cranes and forklifts.
  • Inspect parts according to the quality inspection plan and verify conformance to blueprint specifications.
  • Report any manufacturing issues to supervisors and/or the quality department.
  • Accurately complete job documentation per company procedures and/or customer requirements.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area.
  • Perform tasks in an organized and productive manner to meet target completion dates.
  • Measure completed workpieces using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulers to verify conformance to specifications.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior manufacturing experience running a mechanical press brake and/or laser cutting machine.
  • Ability to handle physical workload, lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • At least 2 years of experience operating and setting up CNC laser, turret punch press, press brake, and panel bender machines.
  • Knowledge and experience using basic inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, scale, etc.) and reading blueprints.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with shop math.
  • Knowledge of GD&T is a plus but not required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with programmable logic controllers (5 years preferred).
  • 5 years of mechanical knowledge preferred.
