Job description

Lead Panel Builder / Electrical Control Panel and Mechanical Builder

Job Summary
 We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Control Panel and Mechanical Builder to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will 

Lead the fabrication, wiring, and testing of electrical control panels, switchgear, and enclosures, and customer specifications while mentoring junior builders and maintaining production schedules.

They will be responsible for laying out, fabricating, and assembling large, complex control panels and doors. This involves installing components and wiring control panels based on a schematic diagram. 

The skills, education, and experience you need:

To succeed in this role, you must have experience with:

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts (AutoCAD/EPLAN drawings)
  • Assembling and wiring control panels.
  • Working with blueprints, schematics, and a bill of materials.
  • Electrical theory and measurement skills.
  • Light metal fabrication techniques.
  • Troubleshoot wiring errors and component failures
  • Maintain accurate build documentation, redlines, and as-built drawings
  • Manage panel shop workflow to meet production deadlines



Qualifications

  • Ability to read complex electrical schematics and ladder logic diagrams
  • Experience with hand tools, crimping/termination tools, and wire labeling systems
  • Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, and industrial control component
  • Basic understanding of PLC/HMI wiring (programming knowledge a plus)
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control mindset
  • Good communication and leadership skills

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, work in a shop environment
