Job description

Job Summary: The Industrial Control Panel Builder assembles, wires, and tests industrial control panels according to electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and UL508A standards. This role involves cutting, routing, and terminating wires; mounting components; ensuring proper layout and labeling; and performing quality checks to verify functionality and safety. The position supports manufacturing and automation projects by delivering accurate, reliable, and professionally built control systems.
Essential Functions:
  • Wire and build industrial control panels based on schematics and/or blueprints.
  • Test control panels for functionality
  • Diagnosing wiring errors, component failures, or design discrepancies.
  • Maintain facility safety, cleanliness, and organization.
  • Occasionally may be asked to perform other functions not particularly addressed in this posting.
  • Regular, in-person attendance is required.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 2 years of experience in control panel building or a combination of work and education.
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Motivated and Willing to learn
  • Ability to read electrical schematics
  • Strong mechanical and electrical background
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in control panel building
  • Experience with UL508A standards
  • Ability to troubleshoot control panels
Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time
  • Regularly move about within the shop to gather materials
  • Constantly place and position small and large parts during the building process
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds without difficulty
Work Environment:
  • Work is primarily performed indoors in a climate-controlled shop.
Reporting Relationships:
  • The Industrial Control Panel Builder reports to the Panel Shop Manager
Hours:
  • Monday - Friday (7:00 am - 3:30 pm)
  • Occasional Voluntary Overtime
