Job description

Electrical Machine Builder II

Haumiller Engineering is a 100% employee-owned company that designs and manufactures automation assembly and test equipment for the life science, personal care and food and beverage industries.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Machine Builder II with a minimum 5 yearsโ€™ electrical build experience in automation assembly equipment. This position is 100% on-site and based in our Belvidere, IL facility. Must be willing to travel to South Elgin facility when required. Some travel may be required to customer sites.

This role works within our Electrical Build Group and will be responsible for the assembly of control cabinet panels, subassemblies, products, or systems of high speed automation equipment. This role will also be responsible for leading projects and working with the Mechanical Lead person to ensure jobs are completed in a timely manner.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead a crew of electricians delegating tasks, problem solving and communicating progress and results interdepartmentally
  • Assemble custom machinery that includes panel building and installation of electrical components using electrical schematics, engineering drawings, job specifications and written and verbal instructions
  • Perform troubleshooting of electrical components, assemblies, wire harnesses, and plugs using a voltmeter to ensure they meet job specifications and Haumiller standards
  • Mount control components, such as control relays, circuit breakers, drives, power supplies on electrical back panels
  • Proficient in use of hand tools, soldering irons, mechanical and electronic test equipment

What You Will Bring:

Our ideal candidate will be an experienced Electrical Builder or Electrician with a minimum of 5 yearsโ€™ experience with electrical build responsibilities preferably in the automation machinery industry.

  • Minimum 5 yearsโ€™ experience in electrical build and assembly
  • Experience reading and understanding assembly drawings, electrical and pneumatic schematics
  • Ability to use basic electrical hand tools
  • Ability to lift up to 75lbs
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel and work closely to the ground
  • Ability to climb and work on a 6โ€™ ladder
