Job Title: Direct Hire - Senior Panel Builder

Job Description

This Senior Panel Builder position is responsible for assembling and wiring industrial control panels, electro-mechanical sub-assemblies, and major assemblies in accordance with internal standards and customer-specific quality requirements. The role combines hands-on electrical and mechanical work with careful interpretation of technical documentation to ensure reliable, compliant, and high-quality panel builds.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and wire industrial control panels, electro-mechanical sub-assemblies, and major assemblies to meet internal and customer-defined quality standards.
  • Read, interpret, and apply mechanical, electrical/electronic, and pneumatic drawings, schematics, and diagrams during panel build activities.
  • Apply technical skills effectively to perform accurate wiring, layout, and assembly work, ensuring proper routing, termination, and labeling of components.
  • Assist in the development and build of prototype industrial control panels and assemblies, providing technical expertise in identifying, correcting, and repairing non-conforming materials.
  • Document and report discrepancies, non-conformances, and material or build issues in accordance with standard operational procedures.
  • Select and use appropriate assembly and wiring tools, including manuals and pneumatic or electric hand tools, to complete work safely and efficiently.
  • Use basic computer tools, including email and MRP software, to access documentation, update records, and communicate with team members.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and other departments, using strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to support smooth project execution.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow established processes and quality guidelines throughout the build process.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by providing feedback on drawings, procedures, and build methods when issues or opportunities are identified.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical/electronic, and pneumatic drawings, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Proven ability to apply technical skills effectively in panel assembly and wiring work.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Experience assisting in the development and build of prototype industrial control panels and assemblies.
  • Capability to identify, correct, and repair non-conforming materials and document discrepancies per standard operational procedures.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, including email and MRP software.
  • Knowledge of selecting and using assembly and wiring tools, including manuals and pneumatic or electric hand tools.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Approximately 5 years of related work experience in panel building or closely related electrical assembly work.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Additional education beyond high school is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a Senior-level or lead panel builder role is preferred.
  • Status as a Certified IPS Specialist to IPC/WHMA-A-620 is a plus.
  • Familiarity with UL-508A standards is a plus.
  • Experience with schematic-based panel wiring and blueprint reading is beneficial.
  • Background in industrial control panel building, panel wiring, and panel assembly is advantageous.
