Job Title: Paint Production Supervisor

Reports to: Facility Management

Department: Paint

FLSA: Exempt position (not eligible for overtime)

Location: Ramsey, MN

Trinity Glass International has full-time Production Paint Supervisor available at our Ramsey, MN manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be a team player and have a demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will safely direct production of the manufacturing operations of the paint department to help determine policy, production flow, staff development, and procedures to enable the business to run efficiently and profitably while maintaining high levels of quality control.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervise production schedules and processes to manage workload and continually revise production schedules and priorities based on customer expedites.
  • Administer company policies. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Interviewing and training employees. Appraising performance; motivating, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safety of the personnel and compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with OSHA’s General Industry Standards.
  • Monitor and ensure DEP compliance (with assistance).
  • Must monitor and maintain quality standards.
  • Review and analyze production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with part specifications, operating or production problems and/or to improve job margins.
  • Analyze, diagnosis and propose solutions to production hurtles.
  • Monitor and maintain efficiencies standard. Indirect-gaps and line stoppages and Direct efficiencies – line speed and density.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement methods and techniques and 5S.
  • Interviewing and training employees. Appraising performance; motivating, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
  • Observes machine operation and gauges to detect defects or deviations from standards.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Extensive experience in a dynamic job shop environment including quality control systems, management principles and practices, manufacturing processes, equipment and scheduling and inventory control methods.
  • Identify and resolve quality issues within the coatings.
  • Experience using paint quality checking tools such as crosshatch mil gauges, etc.
  • Persistent, upbeat, positive, high energy, and thrives in a dynamic atmosphere of change.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot product related problems.
  • Line will be automated, so PLC experience a plus.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers.
  • Ability to gain consensus, influence and inspire with excellent relationship management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with ability to prioritizing multiple tasks.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office package and working knowledge/experience.
  • Understanding of high-speed curing ovens, PLC driven.

  • Supervisor Experience: 3 years
