POSITION REPORTS TO: Department Manager SUPERVISION RESPONSIBILITIES: None STATUS: Full-time; FLSA Non-Exempt POSITION OBJECTIVE: Responsible for preparing and cleaning paint booth and paint equipment, preparing paint and properly disposing waste paint and chemicals, and applying paints and other coatings to large surfaces

Blast barges; move barges in/out of blast booth; help out in paint booth as needed. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Clean and prepare surfaces for painting, including blasting, masking, or applying chemical rinses. Apply paint according to specifications.

Use of air-assist paint guns to paint large surfaces Cleaning paint booth, paint application equipment, paint lines, air lines, and respirator Carefully follow all guidelines for the safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals and waste. Maintain and troubleshoot paint equipment, including changing filters according to specifications. Maintain replacement parts inventory and keep accurate records Maintain proper air flow in the paint booth; keep filters clean Use of wet gages and understanding mill thickness Mix Paint according to proper ratios Use PPE properly: blast suit, ear protection, helmet, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes Prepare barges for blasting Spray blast onto barges to remove grease, dirt, and rust Read and understand work orders and work instructions Examine finished surfaces to ensure quality texture Clean off barge to prepare for paint process Clean floor of blast booth and surrounding area daily Assist in other areas as needed and perform other duties as assigned Keep area clean, tools put away, and tools in working condition.

Meet safety, quality, and productivity objectives EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalency 1-3 years of related experience with Industrial Painting Understanding of application defects and their causes Demonstrated experience mixing paints and other coatings Demonstrated experience handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals and waste PHYSICAL FACTORS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Ability to safely lift 80 pounds Must be able to stand, reach, walk and bend on a continual basis.
