Job description

Railcar Prepper

Location: Lafayette, IN
Starting Pay: $18.00 per hour
Shift: First Shift | 5:00 a.m. start time

Road & Rail Services is hiring a dependable Railcar Prepper to join our Lafayette team. This is an active, hands-on job for someone who enjoys working outdoors, staying busy, and being part of a team that keeps rail operations moving.

As a Railcar Prepper, you will inspect, clean, and prepare railcars before they are loaded. The work is physical and takes place outdoors in changing weather conditions.

What You'll Do
Inspect railcars and identify debris or areas that need attention
Clean and prepare railcars using blowers, scrapers, and hand tools
Climb ladders and safely work at heights up to 20 feet
Follow all company safety procedures and work instructions
What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is reliable, safety-conscious, and ready to work. Previous railcar experience is helpful, but it is not required.

You must be able to:

Lift up to 50 pounds
Work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, dust, and noisy conditions
Bend, climb, stand, and walk throughout the shift
Report to work consistently for a 5:00 a.m. start time
