The present company was formed in 1959 when the Magnethermic Corporation acquired the assets of Ajax Electrothermic Corp. combining their expertise and capabilities.
Position Summary:
The Shipping Clerk is responsible for accurately preparing, packaging, and shipping customer orders while ensuring products are protected and delivered safely. This role supports both domestic and international shipments by pulling inventory, verifying order accuracy, creating shipping documentation, and preparing export shipments for the International Logistics Coordinator. The Shipping Clerk also operates material handling equipment, maintains accurate shipping records, and helps ensure inventory accuracy. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and a commitment to safety, quality, and on-time delivery.
Job Duties:
- Pull, verify, package, and stage customer orders for shipment.
- Prepare shipping labels, bills of lading, packing lists, and other required shipping documentation.
- Package materials to prevent damage and meet customer and company packaging standards.
- Prepare international shipments and provide required information to the International Logistics Coordinator for final export processing.
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and inventory transactions.
- Report shipment discrepancies, damaged materials, or inventory issues promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping area while following all company safety procedures..
What you need to be successful:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years of experience in shipping, warehouse, logistics, or material handling experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with domestic shipping.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and basic computer proficiency
Preferred Qualifications:
- International shipping experience.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience.
