Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

This Packaging Project Manager is an unbiased project leader for all design projects. This is a hybrid role that will work onsite at our Toronto office a couple days a week. This PPM is responsible for managing the packaging design, including rebranding and design maintenance for the client. Their day-to-day responsibilities include managing the overall prepress timeline and working proactively to help solve printing and prepress challenges and developing strong client relationships.

They will monitor and communicate project milestones to all stakeholders and ensure projects are executed on time. The PPM is client-facing and will collaborate across internal and external client teams and will be the info hub on the design and prepress process.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the Client’s Packaging Coordinator in activities involving design agencies, prepress agencies, printers, and internal files.
  • Facilitates inputs required for the creative development with brand design agencies for packaging design projects from category audit through initial design concept to handoff to agency partners.
  • Monitors production art development from agency handoff through & including final materials to client.
  • Coordinates project kickoffs, follow-ups, distribution, and internal archiving.
  • Verify and analyze technical data related to packaging design projects and sustainability data collections.
  • Coordinate and supervise corrections and modifications to packaging files with the team, ensuring graphic reproduction quality before printing.
  • Participate in process improvement efforts and various production meetings to have a positive impact on the company.
  • Manages every portion of the approval process between internal and external partners, ensures alignment at every step of the design and activation process.
  • Mentors, coaches, trains and develops team, as required.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree/Diploma of University/College Studies in Prepress, Graphic Design, or Project Management
  • 2-5 years of previous project management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Occasional travel either locally or nationally may be required.
  • High degree of proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Pro, MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as internal and external clients
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.

The Ontario pay range for this position is $73,000 CAD to $83,000 CAD annually. Ultimately, in determining pay, we will consider the successful candidate's experience, skills, knowledge, and other job-related factors.
