Job description

Must Have Technical/Functional Skills
• Strong hands-on experience in InstallShield (Mandatory)
• Experience in MSI packaging, transforms (MST), and Windows Installer technology
• Knowledge of Install Script and custom actions (VBScript, PowerShell)
• Experience with application virtualization (MSIX)
• Understanding of Windows OS internals, registry, and file system
• Knowledge of silent installation switches and packaging standards
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
• Proficient in PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Experience in testing and troubleshooting packaged applications in Install Shield
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Relevant certifications in Microsoft technologies or IT service management.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Convert legacy installations (EXE, scripts) into MSI/MSIX packages
• Customize installations using InstallShield scripting, custom actions, and transforms (MSTs)
• Perform application packaging for enterprise deployment using InstallShield tools
• Conduct testing (UAT, functional validation, silent installs) in different environments
• Review essential elements such as dependencies, prerequisites, upgrade behavior, rollback needs, and configuration steps
• Maintain package documentation, standards, and best practices
• Work closely with application developers, and infrastructure teams
• Engage with developers to understand and analyze technical requirements for installer creation.
• Comprehend application deployment requirements and define a comprehensive deployment workflow.
• Ensure all workflows receive approval from the Design Lead and Architect before implementation.
• Utilize InstallShield to create installer packages, including .msi packages, .exe installers, .msp patches, and hotfixes/updates.
• Develop advanced installer packages using Suite/Advanced UI Project, integrating third-party components effectively.
• Demonstrate proficiency in scripting languages such as Install Script, VBScript, C# and PowerShell to enhance installation processes.
• Design wizard-based UI for Suite/Advanced UI projects.
• Develop and execute test cases for verifying installer packages, focusing on fresh installs, upgrades, uninstalls, silent/command-line installs, and bundled dependency behavior.
• Ensure OS compatibility and overall package robustness.
