About The Role
Our client, a leading national retail organization, is seeking a Packaging Development Manager to lead the planning, development, and execution of packaging initiatives across a diverse portfolio of consumer products. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams including product development, branding, creative, sourcing, and supplier partners to deliver innovative packaging solutions that support business goals, enhance the customer experience, maintain quality standards, and advance sustainability objectives.
The ideal candidate is a highly organized project leader who can manage multiple packaging programs simultaneously while coordinating stakeholders, driving timelines, mitigating risks, and ensuring successful product launches.
Job Description
As a Packaging Development Manager, you will oversee packaging development projects from concept through launch and post-launch evaluation. You will serve as the central point of coordination among cross-functional teams, ensuring projects remain on schedule, within scope, and aligned with organizational priorities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, milestones, and deliverables for packaging initiatives.
  • Define project scope, requirements, success metrics, and expectations in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Coordinate packaging projects from initiation through launch and post-launch review.
  • Align project activities with business priorities, product launch schedules, and organizational objectives.
  • Maintain project roadmaps that clearly identify ownership, dependencies, and deadlines.
  • Monitor project progress, manage changes, and communicate updates to key stakeholders.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize business impact.
  • Lead cross-functional meetings and facilitate collaboration across product development, branding, creative, sourcing, and supplier teams.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for packaging development activities and project coordination.
  • Escalate critical issues when necessary and drive timely resolution.
  • Partner with functional leaders to allocate resources and balance workloads across projects.
  • Monitor resource capacity and proactively address constraints that could affect timelines or deliverables.
  • Guide teams through shifting priorities while maintaining project momentum and meeting key objectives.
  • Conduct post-launch reviews to evaluate outcomes and identify lessons learned.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects from planning through execution.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities.
