Fragile Packing Specialist (Artwork & High-Value Items)

The UPS Store | Retail Location (Not Warehouse)

$18–$20/hour | Flexible Schedule | Growth Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Fragile Packing Specialist to handle, protect, and prepare artwork, collectibles, and high-value shipments with precision and care.

This is not a standard packing role—this position requires craftsmanship, attention to detail, and pride in execution. You’ll be responsible for ensuring every item leaves our store secure, professionally packed, and damage-free.

In addition to packing, you will assist with pickups, transportation handling, and shipping documentation, making you a key part of our customer experience and operations team.

What You’ll Do

- Expertly pack fragile and high-value items using advanced protective techniques

- Build custom packaging solutions (foam, double-boxing, specialty materials)

- Handle artwork, antiques, and delicate items with extreme care

- Assist with local pickups, loading, and unloading shipments

- Secure packages properly for safe transportation

- Accurately process shipping invoices and customer transactions

- Maintain organized, clean, and safe workspace standards

- Work closely with team members to ensure efficient workflow and quality control

What We’re Looking For

- Experience packing fragile, high-value, or specialty items

- Strong understanding of protective materials and packing methods

- High level of attention to detail and accountability

- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs safely

- Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment

- Strong communication and teamwork skills

- Weekend availability required

Preferred Experience (Nice to Have)

- Art handling (galleries, museums, auction houses)

- Shipping/logistics or fulfillment experience

- POS systems or shipping software familiarity

- Experience with pickups or delivery handling

Why This Role Stands Out

- Work with unique, high-value items (not repetitive warehouse packing)

- Develop a specialized skillset in professional packing

- Be part of a high-performing, detail-driven team

- Opportunity for growth into leadership or operations roles

Compensation & Benefits

- Competitive hourly pay

- Flexible scheduling

- Paid training

- Sick time

- 401(k) with company match

- Dental & Vision insurance

- Employee discounts

- Uniforms provided

- Free parking

Work Environment

- Retail store setting (not a warehouse)

- Hands-on, active role

- Team-oriented culture focused on quality and execution
