Job description

Overview
Assemble electronic or mechanical products from blueprints using assembly fixtures and power bench tools. Cut & crimp wires, form, connect and perform simple soldering in accordance with instructions. Fit and align fine electronic assemblies, recognize defective parts, inspect and test final assemblies on a variety of assembly operations
Responsibilities
  • Experience with Kanban Inventory process
  • Count and record parts from inventory with accuracy using basic math skills
  • Communicate shortages, scrap and delays when applicable
  • Read caliper, tape measure and interpret work instructions
  • Identify the correct colored wire(s) per work instructions
  • Operate small hand and power tools
  • Perform cuts, crimps, connections and soldering
  • Use computer software to locate and print assembly drawings
  • Identify and obtain accurate assembly fixtures as called by Work Order
  • Assemble products to Work Order specifications
  • Perform assembly tasks to meet daily production standards of quality and quantity
  • Package product for shipment

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
  • High school or general education (GED) preferred
  • Computer experience with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) required
  • 2 years mechanical or electrical assembly preferred

Skills and Abilities:
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Complete standardized written documentation and correspondence.
  • Professionally communicate in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to perform basic electronic tasks using computer software and Microsoft Office.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
  • Environment is a modern production facility with heat and air conditioning
  • Ability to use fine motor skills (hand and fingers) to routinely manipulate assemblies, hand and power tools, wires, fixtures, and parts
  • The job requires the operation of material handling equipment
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is generally required to stand; bend, kneel, twist, reach overhead routinely to retrieve inventory or pack shipments
  • Required to maneuver routinely
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds routinely
  • Ability to lift 31 pounds to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to lift over 50 pounds with assistance occasionally
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds over shoulders occasionally
  • Ability to lift over 25 pounds over shoulders rarely
  • Ability to push/pull up to 25 pounds regularly
  • Ability to push/pull up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Required to climb a ladder regularly
  • Required to safely ride product up to 14 feet in the air while performing product testing
