Grants Administrator-Soe

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a GRANTS ADMINISTRATOR-SOE to provide pre and post award grants support and operational management of same in the School of Engineering. To serve as the primary interface to investigators and other University offices, with regard to research administration. To ensure timely and accurate submission of proposals in accordance with sponsor guidelines and UAB policies and procedures. To provide post award grants and contracts support to assigned personnel and oversee pre and post award grants management for all research activity in the school. To oversee effort reporting certification cycles, update and maintain pre and post award grants management procedures and resource library, and provide onboarding support and ongoing training to research personnel.

Key duties and responsibilities include managing research grants administration for the School of Engineering, preparing, refining, reviewing and submitting sponsored research proposals, managing post award activities over the life cycle of grants and contracts, ensuring the performance of responsibilities by staff, serving as Department Effort Officer, providing onboarding support and ongoing training to research personnel, and performing other duties as assigned.

Annual salary: $63,875 - $103,800.

Bachelor's degree in a related field and seven (7) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Preferred skills include financial and accounting skills, strong problem solving skills, advanced project management skills, detail-oriented, ability to work with a high degree of independence, conflict resolution skills, process improvement and quality skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and effective customer service skills.
