Job description

KT Pacer

This position provides Human Resources support to the KT Pacer business unit in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The role will partner with the leadership team to develop and implement processes and practices that promote sound employee relations. The role will also work to ensure that performance management processes and compensation practices of the company are up to date and competitive. Assists in developing and improving programs and practices that ensure that KT Pacer is an employer of choice.
Responsibilities may include, but not limited to
  • Recruiting
    • Partner with the KT Pacer managers to develop job descriptions, and identify candidate sources, selection teams, and search timelines. Screen candidates, conduct employment interviews/assessments, and provide feedback on candidates to supervisors and managers.
    • Develop and implement sound sourcing strategies and processes including industry networking, internet resources, campus recruiting, internships, and third-party recruiters.
  • Employee Relations
    • Collaborate with managers and floor supervisors to ensure HR practices are followed including compliance, appropriate staffing levels, retention, employee training/engagement, performance, and incentive programs.
    • Oversee the management of all employee relations matters to ensure employees are treated fairly, and provided with competitive wages, benefits, and sound working conditions.
    • Coach, facilitate, and advise management toward the resolution of employee/management issues.
    • Assist in the continual improvement of the onboarding experience.
    • Leads and/or supports annual HR deliverables to include performance management; merit and bonus awards; benefits enrollment; etc.
    • Investigate employee issues and conflicts and bring them to resolution.
  • Performance Management Appraisal
    • Work with the management team to create job descriptions, develop career paths, and implement succession planning.
    • Prepare for employee performance discussions or terminations with supervisors.
  • Salary and Benefit Administration
    • Administer and consult on compensation programs
    • Liaise with corporate payroll
    • Serve as initial point of contact for company benefit programs.

Education
  • BA or BS in HR or a related field desired.

Experience
  • 3 years of exempt level HR experience or 6-years in lieu of a degree
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly desired
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet business and corporate objectives and timelines
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Prior experience working with ADP, Workday and UKG/Kronos is desired
  • Experience building interpersonal relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Experience complying with all state and federal employment laws
