What is a PPG?

PPG stands for 'Patient and Public Groups' or sometimes 'Practice Performance Groups,' depending on the context. In healthcare, PPGs are groups made up of patients, carers, and members of the public who work with healthcare providers, such as general practices, to help improve the quality of care and services. They provide feedback, suggest improvements, and help practices better understand the needs of their patient population. PPGs also facilitate communication between patients and healthcare staff and often organize events or health promotion activities. These groups play a vital role in ensuring that healthcare is patient-centered and responsive to community needs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a PPG professional, and why are they important?
