Position Overview

Kent Island Resort is seeking a highly motivated, relationship-driven Sales Manager to drive revenue through weddings, social events, celebrations, and group bookings. This role is responsible for generating new business, managing inbound and outbound sales efforts, cultivating client relationships, and converting prospects into confirmed events.

The ideal candidate is a hospitality sales professional with a proven ability to build relationships, manage a sales pipeline, and deliver exceptional guest experiences. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for creating memorable events while achieving established sales goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full sales cycle from inquiry through signed contract.
  • Respond promptly to inbound leads via phone, email, text, and online channels.
  • Qualify prospective clients to understand event needs, guest counts, budgets, and timelines.
  • Conduct personalized property tours and sales presentations.
  • Prepare customized proposals, pricing packages, and contracts.
  • Negotiate contracts and secure event bookings that align with property goals.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and accurate CRM records.
  • Consistently follow up with prospects to maximize conversion opportunities.
  • Develop relationships with event planners, local businesses, community organizations, vendors, and referral partners.
  • Collaborate with operations, culinary, and event teams to ensure a seamless client experience.
  • Participate in bridal shows, wedding expos, open houses, showcases, networking events, and community outreach initiatives.
  • Monitor local market trends and competitor activity to identify new sales opportunities.
  • Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue and booking goals.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service throughout the client journey.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of sales experience in hospitality, weddings, events, catering, hotels, resorts, venues, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated success achieving sales goals and closing business.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent relationship-building, networking, and customer service abilities.
  • Experience managing multiple clients and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and flexible schedules as business needs require.
  • Experience in wedding and social event sales preferred.
