Data Analyst, Customer Data Platform ( Hybrid to Waltham, Ma )

  • The US Customer Data Office is seeking an experienced Data Analyst for immediate deployment. This role involves writing clear, actionable requirements to support data development efforts that build and deliver functionality to stakeholders through downstream systems and reporting.
  • Key expertise includes strong communication, requirements documentation, data exploration, and profiling.
  • The analyst will collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and translate requirements for data development teams, and work closely with engineers to define, implement, and validate acceptance criteria.

Responsibilities

  • Define business operational and analytical data requirements to support implementation of customer data platform for master data management, analytics, and AI.
  • Features consist of concise and insightful definition of business use cases, evaluation of business value, concise descriptions, and definition of acceptance criteria.
  • Elicit input from SMEs and stakeholders.
  • Create flow charts of business processes and report mock-ups to support feature writing.
  • Call out data inputs and measurable analytical outputs.
  • Perform discovery data analysis on source system and post-process data to understand how data inputs and outputs line up to business processes.
  • Present findings, business requirements, analytical representations, and action plans to technical and business users, with verbal communication and written business requirement documents and PowerPoint slides.
  • Conduct knowledge transfer and design sessions with technical implementation teams.
  • Conduct Business-Test / User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to confirm that development meets feature requirements.
  • Educate and train end-users.
  • Provide daily status updates to scrum team and leadership.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience writing and documenting business and functional feature requirements
  • Experience working in an agile development environment using scrum
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence
  • Experience with Master Data Management data environments
  • Experience with utility services data, e.g. field processes, connections and meters
  • Proficient in SQL data querying and data exploration
  • Proficient in exploring data sources and validating data outputs
  • Knowledge of and experience in utility companies are a plus
  • Ability to work with large teams and numerous stakeholders
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and presentation skills with the ability to distill complex technical details for a non-technical audience
  • BA/BS in Business or STEM discipline
  • Live in drivable distance to Waltham, MA office
