About Hy-Vee
At Hy-Vee, we believe the shortest distance between two people is a smile. We're seeking people with a passion for customer service, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to being part of a team that strives to make our customers' lives easier, healthier and happier.
The Role and Why It's Important
As an Overnight Stock Assistant Manager at Hy-Vee, you'll help keep our store running smoothly behind the scenes. • Unload trucks, break down pallets, sort items by aisle, and check in vendor deliveries piece by piece
  • Supervise drop shipments, direct store deliveries, and oversee produce and frozen food truck unloading
  • Write the overnight stock schedule and monitor time-off requests, vacation requests, overtime hours, and sick call-ins
  • Train new employees on stocking, facing, order tags, UPCs, register operation, customer service, and department services
  • Assist with customer service including checkout, sacking, carry-outs, cash accountability, and day-end reports
  • Set and reset new items, tags, and prices as needed, including in-store specials for prior ad items
  • Understand and troubleshoot store equipment including electrical systems, registers, coolers, compressors, and display cases
  • Maintain compliance with Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and all company policies
  • Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed
  • You'll receive direction and support from: District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Store Operations, Perishables, and Health Wellness Home, and Overnight Stock Manager

  • Solve practical problems and make sound decisions with a variety of variables
  • Use basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, and percentages
  • Communicate clearly in writing and verbally with employees, vendors, and leadership
  • Work independently, stay organized, and manage multiple priorities throughout a shift
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; three to five years of similar or related work experience preferred
