Job description

Quality Engineer (Manufacturing | ISO 9001 | Continuous Improvement) Location: Lancaster, NY Compensation: $65,000–$70,000 Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM

Must have valid US Passport

We are seeking a hands-on Quality Engineer to support a fast-paced manufacturing operation. This role is responsible for driving quality performance, leading continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems (QMS). The ideal candidate brings a strong background in manufacturing quality, root cause analysis, and process optimization.

This position works cross-functionally with engineering, production, and operations to improve product quality, reduce defects, and increase overall efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead root cause analysis using tools such as 5 Whys, 8D, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Own and maintain ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems, including internal and external audits
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, waste elimination, and process efficiency
  • Develop and maintain control plans, PFMEA, and process flow documentation
  • Analyze manufacturing and quality data to identify trends and implement corrective actions
  • Partner with production, engineering, and sales to improve product quality and customer satisfaction
  • Support product disposition decisions and non-conformance investigations
  • Reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), including scrap, rework, and warranty issues
  • Perform calibration of tools, gauges, and measurement equipment
  • Establish quality standards, inspection criteria, and visual aids
  • Prepare reports on defects, trends, and corrective actions

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a quality engineering role within manufacturing
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems
  • Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and blueprint reading
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and quality data interpretation
  • Experience with gauging, metrology, and calibration methods
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to travel within the U.S. and Canada as needed (occasional overnight travel)
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
