Job Description Summary
The entry level Leadership Gift Officer will manage relationships with alumni and donors. The main goals of this position are tied to fundraising and donor retention. Specifically, the Leadership Gift Officer will manage a portfolio of donors and potential donors to increase their philanthropic support to the University through quality engagement and customer service.

Responsibilities
Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University's Mission and Catholic and Lasallian higher education.
-Responsible for growing a balanced portfolio of donors overtime which includes discovering, qualifying, and soliciting prospects at the President's Circle level ($1,000+) and retaining and/or increasing donors to Leadership Annual Giving levels ($2,500+), and eventually as Major and Planned Gift prospects ($25,000+).
-Responsible for managing all aspects of relationship building for constituents in their portfolio. Including engagement, qualifying, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
-Using the tools available, will develop relationships with alumni, donors, and prospective donors. These tools include phone, video conferencing tools, in-person meeting, social media, and direct mail.
-Attends alumni and donor events to engage with donors and prospective donors.
-Provides quality customer service to donors as the liaison for their philanthropic support.
-Provides oversight of alumni committees as needed to engage potential donors with the university.
-Assists with essential Annual Giving functions which help develop a pipeline of donors to gift officers.
The Gift Officer will manage his/her individual goals, tracking, and actions . In addition, the Gift Officer will manage relationships related to overall advancement goals. These relationships include campus partnerships, parent giving, and other constituent relationships as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
-Bachelor's Degree
-Comfortable working in a face-paced environment
-Three to five years of growing experience in the field of fundraising (direct solicitation), sales, and/or customer service
-Proven ability to reach and exceed assigned goals
-Experience working with content management systems (i.e., salesforce, raisers edge, donor management database, etc.)
-Competitive/Goal Oriented: This individual must have a proven history of being assigned goals and the desire and discipline to achieve them. The University Advancement team is continuously challenging the status quo and looking for innovative solutions. A competitive spirit in helping the team achieve the next level of success while working towards individually assigned goals is required.
-Customer Service/Relationship Management: The desired candidate will have proven history of providing excellent customer service. They will understand how to provide a personalized experience for donors at scale. Managing and developing external relationships through personal engagement.
-Philanthropic/Service Oriented: The desired candidate has demonstrated an understanding of how philanthropy impacts non-profits and educational opportunities. Must demonstrate skills required to unapologetically ask for financial support to advance the mission of the University.
-Team Player: University Advancement shops are continuously evolving. This position requires working with team members, volunteers, and leaders to achieve desired outcomes. The desired candidate must have a proven history of being a team player and understand their role in relation to the greater vision. The ability to be flexible and use their unique talents in meeting the needs of the team during different stages of development.
-Growth Mindset/Strategic Focus: This position requires someone who is continuously researches and stays up to date on the latest trends in the industry for donor engagement and charitable giving, specifically. An individual who takes pride in growing professionally and personally and who wants to have an impact on the institution's growth.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree or further education in related field.
- Three to five years of experience in personally soliciting individuals for philanthropic support at the leadership annual giving level
- Experience working with Raisers Edge, RENXT or Fundraiser Performance Management (Reeher).-
