Summary of Role:
The Sr. Manager, Technical Project Management is responsible for leading, coaching, and scaling a team of Technical Project Managers accountable for end-to-end delivery of complex, technology-enabled initiatives. This role ensures strong technical execution, governance discipline, and delivery rigor across design, build, integration, testing, and deployment phases.
Essential Responsibilities
People Leadership & Capability Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Technical Project Managers, ensuring consistent performance, skill progression, and role clarity.
  • Establish clear expectations for TPM ownership across build, integration, test, and deploy phases.
  • Identify skill gaps and drive targeted coaching, training, and development plans aligned to enterprise technical delivery needs.
  • Support performance management, staffing decisions, onboarding, and succession planning for TPM roles.

Delivery Oversight & Execution Assurance
  • Provide oversight and challenge on TPM delivery plans, schedules, RAID, and execution strategies.
  • Ensure TPMs effectively translate technical risks and dependencies into schedule, financial, and operational impacts.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex delivery issues, enabling timely resolution across cross-functional teams.
  • Reinforce disciplined use of delivery tools (e.g., ADO, Jira), execution cadences, and reporting standards.

Technical & Program Governance
  • Ensure consistent application of technical project management best practices across workstreams and initiatives.
  • Partner with Architecture, Engineering, Test, Data, and Cutover leads to ensure integrated planning and execution.
  • Drive alignment with program and portfolio governance expectations, including change control, milestones, and stage gates.
  • Support leadership reviews with clear, fact-based insights on delivery health and execution risks.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for program leadership on TPM performance, capacity, and delivery health.
  • Partner with vendor delivery leads to reinforce accountability, execution quality, and outcome ownership.
  • Ensure TPMs maintain effective working relationships with business and IT stakeholders across a matrixed environment.

Other Responsibilities:
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience. MBA preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in technical project or program delivery, including leadership of complex, multi-team initiatives.
  • 2+ years of experience managing or formally leading project managers or TPMs.
  • Strong understanding of technology delivery lifecycles, including design, build, integrate, test, and deploy.
  • Proven ability to lead through ambiguity and influence across technical and non-technical stakeholder groups.
  • Demonstrated experience with Agile, hybrid, and waterfall delivery models.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience delivering large-scale enterprise transformations (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, ERP, data, or platform modernization).
  • Experience operating in a highly matrixed, global organization.
  • Familiarity with technical delivery tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, and integrated reporting platforms.
  • PMP, PgMP, or Agile certifications a plus.

Expected Salary Range
$147,000.00 - $248,000.00
