Job description

A Little About Us
Oats Overnight is on a mission to build a generational CPG brand. Since 2016, our high-protein, drinkable oatmeal has reached over a million customers through direct-to-consumer, and we're now scaling with all major nationwide retail and club partners. Our goal: become a household brand by leveraging speed, storytelling, and strategy.
We are vertically integrated: we develop, manufacture, and fulfill everything in-house. This operational control allows us to engage customers directly into the R&D process, an initiative where we were first-to-market in CPG. It also makes our brand tangible and real: our factory, our team, and our product pipeline are all part of the narrative.
This is an exciting stage - we are emerging as a significant omni-channel brand and launching new products to capture significant market share across verticals. We want you to help us get there.
Every teammate here has equity because we're building something big, and everyone plays an important role. If you're excited about building a brand that does things differently, this is that opportunity.
What's The Job
The Maintenance Planner / Scheduler is responsible for maximizing the efficiency and effectiveness of the maintenance department by planning, scheduling, and coordinating all preventive maintenance (PM) and work order (WO) activities across the plant. This role serves as the backbone of the maintenance operation, ensuring work is properly planned before it is scheduled, parts are kitted and ready in advance, and PM programs are built on sound engineering and continuously improved through performance data. This position also holds primary ownership of the CMMS system, leading its implementation, driving ongoing adoption, and managing it as the organization's central source of maintenance truth. Parts Clerk support is a secondary responsibility of this role.
What You'll Be Doing, Stop Scanning and Read This Part
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate all preventive maintenance activities and corrective repairs across plant equipment.
  • Develop and maintain weekly and long-term maintenance schedules for all plant equipment, balancing resource availability with operational priorities.
  • Ensure parts, materials, and tools are fully kitted and staged prior to scheduling work orders and PMs, work is not scheduled until it is ready to execute.
  • Coordinate with outside contractors for repairs, upgrades, and specialty work as needed, managing scopes, timelines, and on-site access.
  • Serve as the primary owner and subject matter expert of the CMMS, acting as the system's administrator and the department's central point of accountability for its accuracy, integrity, and performance.
  • Lead the implementation and configuration of the CMMS, including asset hierarchy setup, workflow design, user setup, and data migration, ensuring the system is built for long-term scalability and ease of use.
  • Drive ongoing CMMS growth and adoption across the maintenance team, identifying opportunities to expand system utilization, improve data quality, and unlock new functionality that supports operational goals.
  • Maintain and continuously optimize PM schedules within the CMMS to ensure accuracy, relevance, and compliance.
  • Create new PM procedures by referencing OEM manuals, leveraging internal industry knowledge, and validating task effectiveness in collaboration with the maintenance team.
  • Train incoming maintenance technicians on CMMS usage as part of the onboarding process.
  • Maintain an organized and current electronic library of all maintenance documentation, including OEM manuals, bills of materials (BOMs), technical specifications, and equipment records.
  • Establish and track KPIs that reflect the effectiveness and performance of PM and WO execution (e.g., PM compliance rate, schedule adherence, mean time between failures, wrench time).
  • Analyze maintenance performance data to identify trends, recurring failures, and opportunities to improve PM content, frequency, or resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team and management to drive continuous improvement in reliability and maintenance efficiency.
  • Support Parts Clerk functions during periods of high workload or Parts Clerk absence, including receiving and stocking parts, processing requisitions, conducting cycle counts, maintaining the parts room, and coordinating with vendors for procurement.
  • Ensures and promotes food safety throughout the facility.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You've Done and Who You Are

  • Hands-on proficiency with a CMMS platform (e.g., Fiix, eMaint, Maximo, MP2, or equivalent).
  • Strong working knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and equipment reliability principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret OEM equipment manuals, technical specifications, and BOMs.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
