FUEL DESK CASHIER / PORTERPOSITION SUMMARY

The Fuel Desk Cashier / Porter is responsible for delivering exceptional guest service while maintaining a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming travel plaza.

This position combines cashier responsibilities with porter and general housekeeping duties. Team members will assist guests at the fuel desk, operate the register and lottery terminal, stock merchandise, and maintain clean restrooms, showers, sales floor areas, and common spaces throughout the travel plaza.

The ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, self-motivated, and takes pride in keeping the store looking its best while providing fast, friendly, and accurate service to every guest.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES amp; RESPONSIBILITIESGuest Service amp; Fuel Desk
  • Greet guests with a friendly attitude and provide prompt, helpful service.
  • Provide exceptional guest service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Practice suggestive selling to enhance the guest experience and promote store products.
  • Maintain knowledge of store products, promotions, pricing, and services.
  • Accurately operate the cash register, including cash, credit card, and other transactions.
  • Operate the lottery/lotto terminal according to company procedures.
  • Follow all company cash-handling and operating procedures.
  • Adhere to all city, county, state, and federal regulations regarding alcohol and tobacco sales.
  • Maintain a professional and welcoming environment at the fuel desk.
Stocking amp; Store Operations
  • Stock merchandise, coolers, displays, and other areas throughout the store.
  • Maintain a clean and organized sales floor, fuel desk, and common areas.
  • Change fountain drink syrup boxes as needed.
  • Monitor and replenish restroom, shower, and cleaning supplies.
  • Assist other departments and areas of the travel plaza as needed.
  • Support seasonal cleaning projects and deep-cleaning assignments.
Cleaning amp; Porter Responsibilities
  • Clean and sanitize guest restrooms throughout the day.
  • Clean and maintain guest shower facilities, ensuring they are sanitized, stocked, and guest-ready.
  • Sweep, mop, dust, vacuum, and perform general housekeeping throughout the travel plaza.
  • Clean windows, entrance doors, cooler doors, counters, shelving, and other high-touch surfaces.
  • Empty trash and recycling containers inside the store and throughout the parking lot.
  • Maintain clean and presentable entrances, common areas, and exterior spaces.
  • Promptly report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or equipment issues to management.
  • Safely operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning products according to company procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and team members.
Teamwork amp; General Responsibilities
  • Work cooperatively with all team members and departments.
  • Follow company safety, sanitation, and operating procedures.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, dependability, and respect for a diverse guest and team population.
  • Take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Complete all other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
