Job description

Telecom DC Power Plant Field Technician

Mural has partnered with a fast-growing power infrastructure and field services organization to expand its DC power team in East Tennessee and surrounding areas. We are hiring both Level III technicians and advanced Level IV working foremen to support telecom, utility, and other mission-critical customers. Candidates will be considered statewide.

Role focus
  • Hands-on installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of DC power systems
  • Battery plant work: new installs, replacements, commissioning
  • Safe execution of hot cuts and other live DC activities
  • Work across central offices, substations, and data centers
  • Read/interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and equipment manuals
  • Perform site surveys and workmanship quality checks
  • Test alarms and verify complete system functionality
  • Create or follow MOPs (Methods of Procedure) with project teams
  • Travel regionally for customer projects and service calls
  • Deliver professional communication and service on-site
Added scope for Level IV
  • Lead field crews as a working foreman
  • Coordinate jobsite execution and safety
  • Mentor junior techs and elevate team performance
  • Act as the primary technical lead during installs and cutovers
Schedule & travel
  • Report to the Knoxville office every Monday morning at 8:00 AM
  • Remainder of week dedicated to service calls and project work
  • Regional travel required; occasional overnight travel based on project location
  • Open to overtime, emergency calls, and flexible schedules

  • $28.00 - $34.00/hour
  • Strong overtime opportunities
Level IV
  • $34.00 - $40.00/hour
  • Long-term potential to reach $40-$45/hr with tenure and raises

  • Advanced DC power expertise with crew leadership capability
  • History of leading installations and field execution
  • Excellent customer communication skills
  • Ability to act as a working foreman while remaining hands-on
