Job Summary:

We are currently looking for an individual to join our Arizona Division of Occupational Safety and Health (ADOSH) team to provide and develop internal training ADOSH Division employees. This position provides internal training to meet grant requirements, and other training needs within the roles and responsibilities of ADOSH.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Planning, organizing, scheduling and completing ADOSH internal training at the request of ADOSH management, supervision, and/or on a rotating training schedule as developed. Attend planning meetings on a cadence developed by ADOSH management
Assist the section Supervisors and Assistant Directors with scheduled employee training audits and certifications. Monitor/ audit employee training records to ensure employees are up to date in training requirements and implement corrective measures as needed to verify training needs are met for ADOSH employees. Monitor, oversee, and schedule outside training for ADOSH employees to include OSHA outreach, TED manual mandated OSHA OTI, and other training outside of ADOSH.
Develop and implement Compliance Division field training program for new Compliance Safety and Health Officers (CSHO)/Technicians and Industrial Hygienists/Technicians to include CSHO school, field inspections, report and citation writing, and all aspects of new CSHO/Industrial Hygienists training.
Develop and deliver in-person training for ADOSH employees, and upon request from the ICA Director's Office for ICA employees as needed. Create and share power point presentation and materials needed to effectively and accurately train safety and health concepts and theories, standards, and best practices
Attend and complete scheduled safety and health training classes to improve upon skills necessary to enhance trainer's professional development and knowledge in the field, hazard recognition, and current training/ standards updates necessary for current training needs
Participate in the Arizona Management System (AMS)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): Knowledge of:
OSHA and/or ADOSH compliance/consultation standards and regulations
OSHA and/or ADOSH policies and procedures to include OSHA and or ADOSH Field Operations Manual (FOM), Training Education Directive (TED) Manual or similar regulatory compliance agency directives, policies, and procedures.
ADOSH Compliance inspection process
ADOSH Compliance report and inspection file completion process


Skill in:
Speaking in front of groups of individuals
Producing power point materials
Presenting and explaining training material
Developing training materials
Communicating training material and processes/procedures
Ability to:
Provide training of OSHA laws and regulations to individuals and groups of people in construction, general industry, agriculture, and other work environments and classroom settings.
Communicate with members of the public, ADOSH employees, ADOSH management, and ICA Management.
Speaking in front of groups of individuals

Selective Preference(s):

Ideal candidates will have:
Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or equivalent experience/training such as a bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene
Current certification in OSHA 510, 511, 501, and 500 or ability to obtain within first year of employment.
Have 5 years of experience in the construction and general industry required for the necessary OSHA Trainer certification.
Have a working understanding of Safety Compliance practical theories and principles and capability to apply to training processes.
Have a working understanding of Health Compliance (or Industrial Hygiene) theories and principles and capability to apply to training processes.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Arizona Driver's License:
Must possess valid Arizona Driver's License. Required In-state and out-of-state travel is required. Requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks, must complete any required driver training (See Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207 (12). Employees may be required to use their own transportation, as well as maintaining valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration; however, mileage will be reimbursed.

All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).
