Under the direct supervision of the Director of Environmental, Safety and Health assist in administering programs and policies to ensure the Company is in full compliance with existing federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations applicable to the coal-fired electric utility industry, and as needed develop new programs and policies.Â

Key Responsibilities
Conduct all assigned tasks in a manner consistent with all Company safety procedures and policies to support a culture of zero harm.
Support the Company’s strategic plan and be committed to its execution.
Learn or utilize existing experience to develop, administer, and execute compliance activities associated primarily with the Clean Air Act. Other environmental compliance related activities and programs may be assigned as well.Â
Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to air permitting, development of various compliance and technical reports, technical analyses, regulatory review and comment preparation, and work with various continuous emissions monitoring systems and associated software. This work will be conducted in coal-fired power plants as needed, as well as in an office setting.
Work with legal counsel, consultants, and technical contractors as needed to support compliance activities.
Support coal-fired plant staff as needed through the preparation of guidance/policies, general compliance support, inspection support, or audit support as needed.
Maintain a high level of technical competence of existing and new environmental regulations, work with various industry trade groups, and stay informed of current plant operational practices and procedures.
Work with Company personnel in a team atmosphere to maintain compliance with all applicable environmental regulations.
Routinely work cooperatively with federal, state, or local environmental regulatory agency personnel to in support of the Company.
Perform duties in accordance with all applicable federal and state safety laws and regulations, and all applicable company safety rules and operating procedures; when supervising others, assure that safe work practices are followed and conduct safety meetings; make suggestions for the improvement of the safety program and encourage others to do so.
Responsible for knowing and complying with the laws and Code of Business Conduct related to the performance of the aforementioned duties.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology or any other related natural or physical science, such as, but not limited to, biology, chemistry, physics, or geology. A master’s degree is a plus, but not required. One to two years of environmental-related regulatory or coal-fired electric utility work experience is a plus, but not required.Â
