Reports To: Director of Operations

Exempt Status: Exempt

Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED, 5 years of experience in maintenance position; excellent verbal communication skills; impeccable organization and management skills. All duties and responsibilities are essential job functions and requirements and are subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities. To perform this job successfully, the incumbent(s) will possess the skills, aptitudes, and abilities to perform each duty proficiently. The requirements listed in this document are the minimum levels of knowledge, skills, or abilities.

Job Description: This position is responsible for the overall maintenance, security and daily operations of the physical plant and grounds of MPCS, which include 8 buildings.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to continuously stand or walk
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs and lift frequently
Requirements:

Responsibilities: The following are responsibilities of this position:

o Planning, training, and delegating to maintenance staff as they perform various tasks and duties

o Performing quality control checks to ensure that the buildings meet quality standards

o Routinely inspect equipment and submit requests for repairs

o Control inventory of supplies and equipment

o Supervise and delegate to morning custodial staff duties that are expected during the day and throughout the dining hall periods, including clean up and preparation for afternoon activities.

o Plans and coordinates with outside contracting firms for the purpose of completing work orders/projects efficiently.

o Perform a variety of tasks that require the ability to inspect, repair, fabricate, install, service and maintain building facilities and building equipment.

o Perform a broad spectrum of hardware repairs and installations.

o Refinish and make repairs to furniture, tables and chairs.

o Follow specific operations and maintenance guidelines for site specific equipment.

o Read and interpret blueprints, sketches and diagrams.

o Deliver materials, equipment and supplies to facilities.

o Move furniture, equipment and materials within and between facilities.

o Operate a variety of hand and power tools.

o Operate a variety of vehicles, including pick-up truck, scissor lift.

o Safely work from ladders, scaffolding and riggings.

o Keep tools and equipment in good operating condition.

o Prepare daily reports on work completed and materials used.

o Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

o Oversee and assist with the maintenance team and continually monitor work orders as they come into the system and are completed. Ensure that work is being completed timely and correctly.

o Oversee and assist in the set up and take down facility seating arrangements for various on campus functions.

o Ability to perform work indoors and outdoors.

o Considerable physical effort of hands and arms required; the employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects with considerable weight.

o May be required to return to work when major problems are encountered on and off-shifts.

o Coordinate all maintenance and facility utilization requests to ensure maximum utilization of facilities.

o Ensure that facilities are in compliance with OSHA Code of Federal Regulations.

o Coordinate with contractors to ensure grounds and facilities are maintained at the highest standards.

o Scheduling, assisting, with monthly fire, active shooter, tornado and safety drills.

o Assist with safety inspections that are required by school insurance company concerning athletic program, after school program, playground equipment and facilities.

o Managing the ordering system through the school’s internal program, as well as vendor established programs, to ensure supplies are ready and available for operational needs.

o Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.

o Compliance with the MPCS Employee Handbook.

o Model Christian behavior at all times.

o Other duties as assigned.
