About Us

Federally designated as a senior military college, one of the university's signature leadership programs is its 800-member Corps of Cadets on UNG's Dahlonega Campus.
Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a federal work study student in the Campus Recreation & Wellness department on the Dahlonega campus. Outdoor Adventures Program Staff serve the UNG student body through four program areas, Pine Valley Ropes Course, the Climbing Wall, Equipment Rentals, and Adventure Trips. OA staff have the option to serve in all 4 areas, but are also able to specialize in one or two. Hours vary by week, all required trainings are provided.
Responsibilities
  • OA staff are responsible for safe and professional climbing and ropes course facilitation, efficient equipment rental facilitation, and safe and engaging trip leading.
  • OA staff are also responsible for other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Must have a love for the outdoors and a desire to grow in their outdoor leadership and technical skills.
  • Prior outdoor leadership experience is preferred but not required.
  • All required technical skills are provided by in job training.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
