Job description

Outdoor Recreation Admin & Event Coordinator

Are you passionate about the outdoors and love bringing people together? Join a growing team that's making outdoor recreation accessible and exciting for the community. This is your chance to turn your organizational skills and enthusiasm into meaningful impact โ€” every event you coordinate gets more people outside and active.

Full-time | Mondayโ€“Friday, 9amโ€“6pm (with some evenings and weekends for events)

What You'll Do

Bring Events to Life From pre-event logistics to day-of execution, you'll be a driving force behind memorable outdoor experiences โ€” managing registration, scheduling, and everything in between.

Connect with the Community You'll be a friendly, go-to resource for participants before, during, and after events โ€” gathering feedback that directly shapes how programs grow and improve.

Keep Operations Running Smoothly Coordinate equipment checkout, setup, and maintenance so every event runs without a hitch. Your behind-the-scenes work makes the magic happen.

Spread the Word Help grow the community through social media, email newsletters, and outreach partnerships โ€” sharing the mission with people who need to hear it.

Build and Support a Volunteer Team Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers in a way that makes them feel valued and keeps them coming back. You'll manage inquiries and keep everything organized on a shared calendar.

Support the Bigger Picture Assist with grant reporting, sponsor communications, and stakeholder presentations that demonstrate the organization's growth and impact.

Champion Clear, Positive Communication Serve as a connector between staff, participants, and stakeholders โ€” keeping everyone informed and energized.

Power Fundraising Efforts Help sustain the mission by supporting donation outreach and sending heartfelt thank-you follow-ups to donors.

Keep the Team Organized Manage databases, schedule meetings, file paperwork, and turn event data into insights that help the organization grow smarter.

What You Bring

  • A genuine love for outdoor recreation and community engagement
  • An associate degree in a relevant field, or equivalent real-world experience
  • Strong organizational skills with sharp attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication โ€” clear, warm, and professional
  • Comfort with Google Suite, Microsoft Excel, email newsletter platforms, and social media tools
  • A self-starter attitude with the ability to thrive both independently and as part of a team

Why You'll Love It Here

  • This role puts you at the heart of a mission-driven organization where your work directly connects people to the outdoors. No two days look the same, and the community impact you create is real and visible. If you're energized by variety, people, and purpose โ€” this is the role for you.
