Job description

Outdoor Event Security Guard

We are seeking proactive and dependable individuals to join our team as Outdoor Event Security Guards. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a visible presence, deterring unauthorized activities, and responding swiftly to any security concerns or emergencies that may arise during outdoor events.

Event Security Date - Monday, June 8, 2026

Shift: 8-10 hours

Location: Randall's Island

Responsibilities:

  • Secure property and personnel by standing on post, scanning, and controlling facilities, grounds, and access points.
  • Outdoor patrols of the premises for entire shift
  • Implement and practice security procedures and protocols.
  • Maintain a secure and safe environment by monitoring access control systems along with fire and trespassing exits.
  • Strong ability to be attentive to detail and observant of surroundings.
  • Knowledge of operating walkie-talkie, two-way radio transceivers, and answering service calls for assistance
  • Acknowledge, review, and respond to all operational alarms and security-related situations.
  • Provide excellent customer service experience by greeting incoming guests, providing information regarding the site and surrounding area as requested by visitors.
  • Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain, snow, or heat.
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisors related to security and safety.
  • Patrol event grounds to monitor for suspicious behavior, unauthorized access, or potential safety hazards.
  • Assist with crowd control and ensure orderly conduct among event attendees.
  • Provide directions and assistance to event attendees, answering questions and addressing concerns in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with event organizers, vendors, and other security personnel to coordinate security efforts and respond effectively to incidents.
  • Respond promptly to security breaches, disturbances, or medical emergencies, following established protocols and procedures.
  • Complete accurate and concise reports by recording observations, occurrences, information, and surveillance activities.

Work Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid NYS Security Guard license
  • Valid F03 Certification
  • Valid F04 Certification
  • Prior experience in security, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to stand, walk, and lift heavy objects as needed.
