Orthopedic Spine Surgeon Locum Tenens Opportunity

Job Quick Facts • Specialty: Orthopedic Spine Surgery / Neuro Spine Orthopedics • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Facility Location: Raleigh, NC & Upstate South Carolina / Charlotte Market • Service Setting: Outpatient Clinic / Private Practice • Reason For Coverage: Supplemental / Backfill Coverage • Coverage Period: Ongoing beginning 06/15/2026 • Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Coverage – No Call • Shifts Needed to be Filled: Raleigh, NC: 3–4 days per month South Carolina Market: 1 day per month initially • Shift Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, flexible scheduling • Patient Demographics: Primarily adult patients with minimal pediatrics • Patient Volume: Approximately 25–30 patients per day • Phone Consults: As needed • % of Practice: 99% Non-Surgical Spine & Orthopedic Evaluations • Physicians in Practice: Multispecialty orthopedic/spine practice • Support Staff: PAs, NPs, Physiatrist, Pain Anesthesiologist, RN • Specialty Backup: Sports Medicine Physician and Foot & Ankle Specialist on staff • Case Mix: Spine evaluations Whiplash and injury workups Basic orthopedic evaluations Fracture care experience helpful Patients being evaluated for possible surgery (surgery not performed in role) • Procedures: Epidural injections Facet injections Cortisone injections Joint injections Spine evaluations and orthopedic workups • Office Equipment: PACS imaging system C-arm access available No in-office plain film fluoroscopy • Other Info: No Schedule II narcotics prescribed Local anesthetics such as lidocaine may be dispensed Ideal candidate holds both NC and SC licenses Client prefers providers local to Charlotte, NC or Charleston, SC area Surgery is not required for this role Images are commonly received weeks later and duplicate imaging is discouraged by attorneys • Hospital Privileges Available: Not required • Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 1 week / ASAP credentialing available • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance Covered Requirements: • Board Certification: Orthopedic Surgeon with Spine Fellowship Required (No Exceptions) • Active NC License: Preferred • SC License: Highly preferred for South Carolina coverage • DEA: Required for SC assignment • Minimum Experience: Not specified • Willing to License: Raleigh assignment: Yes South Carolina assignment: No
