Job Summary:

The Senior Associate, Origination, Commercial Analytics & Market Analysis will support the growth of the Company's renewable energy portfolio through a combination of customer origination, market intelligence, commercial analysis, transaction support, and pricing strategy. The role sits at the intersection of customer demand, power market fundamentals, and project commercialization.

Job Requirements:

Market Analysis & Intelligence

  • Develop market intelligence to inform origination and commercialization strategies across PJM, MISO, NYISO, ERCOT, and WECC.
  • Monitor power market fundamentals including supply additions and retirements, load growth, transmission constraints, congestion trends, capacity markets, and renewable penetration.
  • Evaluate evolving market conditions and identify regions, customers, technologies, and products with the highest commercial potential.
  • Analyze forward energy, capacity, ancillary service, and REC market dynamics.
  • Assess impacts of regulatory, policy, and market rule changes on project economics and customer demand.
  • Produce market outlooks and commercial opportunity assessments for senior management.
  • Identify emerging customer segments and offtake opportunities, including hyperscalers, utilities, C&I customers, data centers, and energy-intensive industries.
  • Support development teams by evaluating market attractiveness and project competitiveness at both a regional and nodal level.
  • Conduct competitor analysis and track offtake activity, PPA pricing trends, and market transaction activity.
  • Recommend go-to-market strategies based on market fundamentals and customer demand signals.

Commercial Analytics & Deal Valuation

  • Support commercial analysis for renewable energy, PPA, VPPA, REC, capacity, and other structured energy transactions.
  • Coordination with M&A/pricing team on pricing, valuation, and margin analysis.
  • Contribute qualitative narratives to support the valuation of project revenue streams under multiple market scenarios.
  • Evaluate capacity accreditation, ELCC impacts, and resource adequacy frameworks.
  • Support pricing recommendations and negotiation strategies.
  • Develop investment committee materials and executive-level decision support analyses.

Origination Support

  • Partner with originators to identify and advance commercial opportunities.
  • Support customer engagement, proposal development, and transaction execution.
  • Participate in customer meetings and commercial discussions.
  • Prepare customer-facing market insight materials and pricing recommendations.
  • Assist with RFP responses and competitive bidding processes.
  • Track commercial opportunities and support pipeline management processes.

Qualifications:

  • Must be eligible to work for any U.S. employer without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Energy Systems, Statistics, Business, or a related quantitative field.
  • Master's degree (MBA, MS Finance, MS Economics, MS Energy Systems, MS Analytics, or equivalent) preferred.
  • 3-7 years of experience in renewable energy, power markets, energy trading, project development, energy consulting, infrastructure investing, utility procurement, or energy finance.
  • Experience supporting the origination, negotiation, and execution of renewable energy transactions, including:
    • Physical PPAs
    • Virtual PPAs (VPPAs)
    • Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) transactions
    • Capacity agreements
    • Structured energy products
  • Understanding of North American organized power markets, including PJM, MISO, NYISO, ERCOT, and/or WECC.
  • Experience evaluating market fundamentals, including:
    • Supply and demand dynamics
    • Capacity markets and resource adequacy
    • Transmission and congestion trends
    • Renewable penetration and capture price impacts
    • Regulatory and policy developments
  • Strong financial modeling and transaction valuation experience.
  • Experience building market outlooks and translating market intelligence into commercial recommendations.
  • Prior experience supporting investment committee, executive leadership, or board-level presentations.
  • Proficiency with data analytics, visualization, and reporting tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with Development, Finance, Legal, Commercial Operations, and Leadership teams.
