Job Title: Field Sales Manager / Product Certification Business Development Manager

Location: Netherlands or Germany

Travel: 25%-50% of working time, predominantly national with some international travel required.

Language requirements: Fluent local language and English language skills, both written and verbal.

Purpose of the role:

This role of Field Sales Manager / Business Development Manager (BDM) focusses on selling BSI Product Certification and Product Testing services to clients in the Digital Connected Products sector.

This role is responsible for identifying and managing sales opportunities, building relationships with clients to understand their business needs and drivers, and positioning BSI as a supplier of Product Certification services to clients looking to export their products into regions that recognise BSI certifications.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A background in either Testing Inspection & Certification; standards industry experience; or experience in field sales in the digital sector.

  • A strong proven track record of successful business to business new sales experience.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including fluency in the local language and in English, both written and verbal.

  • The ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly and succinctly.

  • Excellent sales, negotiation and presentation skills.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Proactively network with existing customers. Proactively generate new business opportunities, and work with the Marketing team to promote the service and increase sales leads.

  • Within territory, identify and proactively pursue new prospects to grow the customer base through targeted contacts, trade shows, and client visits to generate sales revenue in line with targets.

  • Produce accurate sales forecasts and reports of activities undertaken, record sales and order information.

  • Remain up to date with BSI's certification processes and related regulations where appropriate, and be able to communicate these to customers.

  • Apply knowledge of competitors to identify business advantages of BSI products.

  • Deliver sales excellence by managing every step of the sales process to a successful conclusion.

  • Establish strong relationships at various levels with key business and technical contacts. Manage strategic Key accounts in the region and find growth .
