Job Title: Oracle Developer (PL/SQL, APEX, Oracle Forms Experience)

Location: Phoenix, Arizona (On‑site, near I‑17 & Peoria)

Hybrid/Remote: 1‑2 days a week available after the first 6 months of employment.

Salary Range: $100,000 – $120,000 DOE

Position Type: Full‑Time

Position Overview

Chas Roberts is seeking a versatile and highly accountable Oracle Developer to serve as the primary developer for Oracle‑based applications across multiple departments. This role operates as the primary day‑to‑day developer and collaborates with IT Leadership on escalated architectural, cross‑system, or modernization decisions. The individual will manage, develop, and maintain Oracle applications and tangential 3rd‑party applications and integrations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical expertise in PL/SQL coding, Oracle APEX, and Oracle Forms, and possess exceptional interpersonal and documentation skills to support a diverse organizational environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary programmer supporting multiple departments by developing, maintaining, and optimizing Oracle‑based applications.
  • Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries for Oracle databases.
  • Design, develop, and implement user‑friendly applications in Oracle APEX to meet diverse departmental needs.
  • Support, develop, troubleshoot, and manage Oracle Forms‑based systems to ensure continued functionality.
  • Participate in the planning, testing, and execution of Oracle software patches and upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive migration plans for any system upgrades or system changes needed.
  • Migrate existing Oracle Forms processes to Oracle APEX for increased sustainability.
  • Integrate software and multiple data sources using different methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain web APIs, SFTP, point‑to‑point integrations, Pub & Sub, etc.
  • Implement rigorous testing protocols to validate processes and code prior to deployment.
  • Ensure thorough testing and quality assurance for all upgrades, new developments, and changes to existing systems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to validate system functionality and compliance with user requirements.
  • Act as the key point of contact for programming needs across departments, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of solutions.
  • Collaborate directly with end users and department leaders to gather requirements, provide support, and deliver high‑quality results.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with stakeholders, proactively managing expectations and project timelines.
  • Communicate progress, blockers, and timeliness for assigned tasks to IT leadership and related department leaders.
  • Document existing and newly developed code, workflows, and visual designs to ensure long‑term maintainability and understanding.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date records of all upgrades, changes, and testing processes.
  • Provide technical insights and guidance to other teams or contractors when required.
  • Identify opportunities for optimizing system performance, improving user interfaces, improving user security, improving data security, and enhancing workflows.
  • Stay informed about the latest Oracle technologies and trends to implement cutting‑edge solutions.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Experience
  • Strong proficiency in SQL development/coding and Oracle database programming.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining applications using Oracle APEX.
  • 3–5 years PL/SQL and APEX experience in production environments.
  • Exposure to or experience with Oracle Forms and other Oracle systems.
  • Expertise in software development lifecycle processes, process automation, and integrations.
Technical Skills
  • Expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, and database‑driven application development.
  • Proficiency with Oracle databases and performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with version control systems and debugging methodology.
