In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities

As an Oracle Cloud Technical Consultant working as an integral part of a project team, you will contribute to all phases of the consulting lifecycle. You will play a customer-facing role and will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of technical elements within projects. You will work with and support your peers to develop, test and deploy the solution, and ensure project deliverables in your area are met. In addition to project related activities, you will also contribute to proposal development, demonstrating the technical capabilities to potential customers and play an important role in building our Oracle Cloud capabilities and offerings.

As an experienced consultant you will be a self-starter and have strong technical skills in the implementation of Oracle Cloud, backed up by proven hands-on experience, ideally across different industries. You will have the ability to work under pressure and must be able to communicate effectively with customer stakeholders. You will also be required to travel to client sites as part of the role.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be part of our premier consulting firm working on the cutting edge of Cloud Implementations.

Required technical and professional expertise
  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a Technical Consultant.
  • Involvement in at least 2 full Oracle Cloud Implementations cycles
  • Ability to multi-task and to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • You will be a technical consultant with experience in a number of the following areas:
  • Ability to design and develop complex integrations between Oracle Cloud and third-party systems utilising OIC (Oracle Integration Cloud), BI Extracts, SOAP/REST APIs and other integration platforms and methods.
  • Experience of data conversion activities using HDL/ FBDI/ API’s to load data into Oracle Cloud.
  • Skills to develop advanced reports and dashboards using Oracle’s BI Toolset including BI Publisher, OTBI and Fusion Data Intelligence.
  • You will have demonstrable technical skills in a number of the following areas:
  • BI Publisher, OTBI and the wider Oracle Analytics Cloud capabilities.
  • Web Services: Experience with SOAP, REST APIs, and ATOM feeds.
  • SQL/PL-SQL: Strong SQL skills for data analysis.
  • OCI: Working with Oracle’s Cloud infrastructure components.

This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personal Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NVS) may apply, this could include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).

Preferred technical and professional experience
  • Experience working with functional teams for Interface design, development and testing.
  • An understanding of the broader Oracle Cloud functional areas e.g. Finance, HCM and Payroll, SCM, CX, Logistics.
  • Leading teams/ streams of work
  • Experience in pre-sales activities such as contributing to proposals, conducting Proof of Concepts or supporting customer demonstrations.
  • Lead the delivery of migration strategies, designs and reconciliation solutions on complex projects.
  • Have a good understanding of the AI capabilities of Oracle, and how AI can be used to streamline and improve the activities mentioned above for integrations, migrations & reporting.
