Overview

Cleary Gottlieb is a pioneer in globalizing the legal profession. We have fourteen offices in major financial centers around the world, but we operate as a single, integrated global partnership and not a U.S. firm with a network of overseas locations. The firm employs approximately 1,100 lawyers from more than fifty countries.

Since 1946, our lawyers and staff have worked across practices, industries, jurisdictions, and continents to provide clients with simple, actionable approaches to their most complex legal and business challenges, whether domestic or international. We support every client relationship with intellectual agility, commercial acumen, and a human touch.

The Senior IP Litigation Paralegal will be responsible for supporting attorneys and other paralegal staff in all phases of litigation, including case management, court filings, document review and production, docket management, document organization, drafting and responding to discovery, deposition and trial preparation, cite-checking, and mentoring junior paralegals. This position will focus on Intellectual Property litigation cases. Working under attorney supervision, you will have the opportunity to work on high stakes cases with a dynamic legal team. Many cases are heard out of state or before the International Trade Commission, and travel will be involved with this role.

When applying, we kindly request that you submit a cover letter.

  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with members across multiple offices.
  • Available to travel as needed.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.

 Experience

  • Proficient in iManage.
  • Experience with eDiscovery Databases such as Relativity, Opus 2, and CaseMap.
  • Experience with USPTO Patent Center and ability to obtain patents, prosecution histories, and prior art.
  • Proficient with patent terminology and citations.
