Job description

The Route Optimization Analyst is responsible for route planning and optimization in support of changing business requirements, strategic fleet utilization, cost control, and exceptional customer service.

  • Analyze and redesign existing routes for efficiencies to meet changing business requirements.
  • Efficiently plan routing of daily stops based upon established business rules.
  • Plan optimal routes in order to meet customer requirements, drive efficiencies, and reduce costs.
  • Design route solutions and partner with Corporate Service team on implementation strategy.
  • Translate business requirements into technical requirements, ensuring that route solutions fulfill business objectives.
  • Establish routing for new markets and acquisitions.
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the organization's transition from Roadnet to Wise, leveraging deep operational knowledge to inform system design and data migration decisions.
  • Maintain parallel operations and provide continuity of route optimization support throughout the transition period, ensuring no negative impact to customers or driver compensation during the system changeover.
  • Maintain and analyze route data within Transportation Management system and support the system upgrades.
  • Provide quarterly reporting on efficiencies and usage of Transportation Management system.
  • Report on data for route changes including the compensation impact on any proposed changes.
  • Coordinate routing changes with the operations to ensure any transition does not negatively impact our customers.

Experience:

  • 2-4 years of relevant route planning experience required.
  • Experience using Transportation Management software required, experience with RoadNet and/or Wise is preferred.
  • Experience with system conversions/implementations strongly preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent work experience.
    Additional Requirements:
  • Understand of DOT guidelines.
  • Strong knowledge of geography.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 25%-40% depending on work needs.

    The estimated compensation for this position ranges from $80,000-$94,000. This range reflects various factors, including but not limited to the applicant's skills, qualifications, and previous work experience. Additionally, geographic differentials may apply based on the location where the position is ultimately filled, which could affect the final compensation.
